Bane frees all of the maximum-security inmates of the psychiatric facility Arkham Asylum in Gotham City and Batman must drive himself to re-capture the Joker, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, The Ventriloquist, Firefly, Cavalier, The Film Freak, Mr. Zsasz, Cornelius Stirk, Abattoir, and Amygdala. Pushed to the limits, he comes face-to-face against the monster known as Bane who underwent an reluctant experimental procedure to become a new type of super mercenary, who  assaults and cripples an exhausted Batman breaking his back over his knee.
