Based on the successful television series created by Eric Kripke and re-imagined by world-renowned anime studio Madhouse (Stitch!, Death Note, Summer Wars, Ninja Scroll) the highly anticipated animated series shares the same universe as its live-action original, but allows the American and Japanese creative teams to create story elements unavailable in live-action -- "like monsters with tentacles!" adds Kripke.
