Facebook is Tracking Non-Users in the Same Creepy Way as Regular Users (Complex News)

All of us Facebook users know (or should know) the social network tracks the shit out of us. But it turns out this treatment isn't exclusive to people who actually use Facebook. After Belgian researchers released a report on Facebook tracking non-users, the social network has admitted that its social plugins have added cookies to people's computers, even if they've opted into a do-not-track system or aren't Facebook users. 

"Our practice is not to place cookies on the browsers of people who have visited sites with Social Plugins but who have never visited Facebook.com to sign up for an account," Facebook’s vice president of policy in Europe, Richard Allan, said. "The authors identified a few instances when cookies may have been placed, and we began to address those inadvertent cases as soon as they were brought to our attention."

Facebook hasn't addressed all of the Beligan researchers' claims, though. The report also said the social network has been caught placing long-term cookies when users try to opt out of tracking. If true, this makes for one of those "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situations. 

Fashion Critics Share Their Opinions of Kanye West and His Place in the Industry

A lot of people have shared their opinions on Kanye West's entry into the world of fashion, from other designers like Jeremy Scott and Olivier Rousteing​, to NYFW founder Fern Mallis and an Uber driver. Now that people have had a chance to really digest his adidas "Yeezy Season 1" collection with the release of the print version of the Kanye West x adidas "Season" zine, style blog WhoWhatWear.com spoke with a panel of five major critics to get their opinions on Kanye's "aspirations" in the fashion industry. 

The panel includes Robin Givhan, fashion critic for The Washington Post, Eric Wilson, fashion news director for Instyle​, the New York Times' fashion director and chief fashion critic, Vanessa Friedman, Alexandra Jacobs, who is also a fashion critic for the New York Times, and Lynn Yaeger, contributing fashion editor and critic for Vogue. Each of the critics agreed that Kanye's interest in fashion is genuine and that he is a welcome addition to the industry.

"I think Kanye West is really brave," said Friedman, "because he comes in for so much criticism, and he gets knocked down so many times by the fashion world—maybe not by designers but by the ‘protectors’ of the fashion world—and he gets right back up." Givhan said that she admires that he is "willing to go through the uncomfortable process of attempting to learn about a new business under [such a] spotlight," but added that his wife Kim Kardashian's motivation seems to be "all about marketing."

"The fashion industry is lucky to have him interested," said Alexandra Jacobs. "every show he attends swivels more eyeballs to their brands...I don't see any reason why Kanye couldn't do as well as the Olsen Twins, who, let's remember, had a line at Wal-Mart before starting The Row."

Rich Homie Quan Fought a Security Guard Then Escaped on a Speedboat

A security guard was reportedly assaulted by Rich Homie Quan and his crew when he denied them entry to the back VIP door at Club LIV. According to reports, security guard Christian Cajigas told the rapper and the crew that the club was over capacity and that they would have to go to the normal entrance and wait like everyone else. Quan reportedly burst into a tantrum and yelled, "I'm Rich Homie Quan, and I'm a rich millionaire, bitch. I'm coming through these doors, I'm with Flo Rida."

When his tirade didn't work, police say that Quan hit Cajigas twice in the face, with one of the blows breaking his nose. According to TMZ, Quan and his crew then crossed the street from the club and fled the scene via speedboat. Police are looking to question them in the case, and we will continue to update when more details are made available.

Jay Z Will Pay Back Royalties for an Uncleared Sample on “Magna Carta Holy Grail” (Complex Magazine)

Jay Z has found himself in legal trouble again and this time it looks like Hov will have to cough up some serious money. According to The Daily Mail, Jay Z, Timbaland, and Swizz Beatz failed to credit Swiss musician Bruno Spoerri on the Magna Carta Holy Grail song "Versus," and will now have to fork over 50 percent of the song's earnings.

Jay and company reportedly used Spoerri's "On the Way" instrumental on the song without permission, even though Spoerri revealed that he would have cleared the sample if they would have just asked. “On the other hand I’m furious because it would have been so simple to clear the sample. All it would have needed was a call or an email to the company and I think it would have been relatively cheap," Spoerri said. The legal proceedings reportedly took 18 months to sort out before Jay agreed to pay Spoerri a portion of the earnings. As you can hear from the two songs below, it was a pretty open and shut case to figure out.

Everything We Know About "To Pimp A Butterfly" (Complex Magazine)

The anticipation for Kendrick Lamar's new album has been brewing for what feels like forever. It's seen a serious spike in the last 24 hours as Kendrick and members of his camp took to Instagram and Twitter to reveal the name and artwork for his follow-up to good kid, m.A.A.d city.

To Pimp a Butterfly is the title of his next album, one of the few concrete details we know about the project. Kendrick has seemingly made it a mission to maintain a high level of mystery surrounding the album, be it the initial black placeholder for the album's artwork or publishing an almost entirely nameless tracklist to iTunes.

Earlier today, Rolling Stone revealed that Lamar will be on their next cover. Within the issue, he reveals that "i" will be on the album and serves as a counter-point to a song titled "u," which is described by the writer as Lamar "almost sobbing over a discordant beat, berating himself about his lack of confidence and calling himself 'a fucking failure.'"

In anticipation of the album's Mar. 23 release date, we gathered all the information there is about To Pimp a Butterfly. Be warned, this will not quench, but only increase the thirst for new music.

Madonna Will Be on Kanye West's New Album and Is Working With Drake

Pop queen Madonna is dropping her 13th solo studio album (that has been plagued by leaks and some promo backlash) Rebel Heart, March 10th.

The album's production credits featured Kanye West, who worked with Madonna on a handful of Rebel Heart songs, including "Illuminati." But last night in New York, in a conversation with Complex's Sean Evans, she revealed that the collaboration with West extended beyond Rebel Heart and that the two also wrote a song together that will appear on West's new album, So Help Me God.

According to Madonna, West was initially interested in going through all of the Rebel Heart tracks and offering feedback, as Rick Rubin did for Yeezus. But because of West's schedule, "He ended up only working on four songs, and then we wrote another song together, which is going to be on his record," she said.

In addition to a new song with West, Madonna also hinted that she and Drake's mutual Instagram appreciation has led to a real-life collaboration. "We're gonna work together," she said. "Yeah, baby, it's in the pipeline."

Kanye West's "All Day" leaks in CDQ (CD Quality) and The Internut Goes Nuts! (Complex Magazine)

After debuting the song last week, Kanye West drops the studio version of "All Day" featuring Allan Kingdom and Theophilus London. Much like the live performance at the Brits, Kanye brings forth an extreme intensity that is bolstered by the in-your-face production and monstrous drums. 'Ye's confidence in his raps is also at an all-time high on this release, as he spits with an unmatched swagger that is topped through the solid verses and insane hook. This will make its way onto Kanye's upcoming album, So Help Me God, which 'Ye announced as the title over the weekend. Many have wondered who is featured on the end of the song, and it appears that it's actually a sample of a Paul McCartney whistle outro that they redid for "All Day."

Complex News: Lil' Wayne On Not Speaking With Birdman, Status of "Tha Carter 5," and What "On Fleek" Means

Lil' Wayne has finally spoken out about his desire to leave Cash Money Records and the subsequent lawsuit for $51 million against the label. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Wayne reveals that he and Birdman are not on speaking terms, and though he didn't really want to talk about the lawsuit, he said that the situation was taking its toll on him.

He didn't go into more detail about Birdman or the legal issues, but he did speak on Tha Carter V and confirmed that the album is indeed done, but is on hold right now while the legal situation plays out. "Cake baked, icing on top, name on top, candles lit. I would have released it yesterday if I could. But it's a dead subject right now. It's a jewel in the safe. It's that stash-house money," Wayne said. On a good note however, Weezy did reveal that his Free Weezy Album is coming out as a free project in March. "I guarantee it's going to be something dope. If you don't want a musician being creative, don't get The Free Weezy Album," Wayne revealed.

As for the retirement rumors that sparked up months back, Wayne said that that was at one time the plan, but after thinking it over, he doesn't know if he can truly walk away from music. "I've thought about it," he says. "But for a person like me that bleeds, eats, sleeps and shits music, it's hard to do, " Wayne said. A$AP Yams: 1988 – 2015 (Complex Magazine)

A$AP Yams has passed away. He was 26 years old.

Yams—born Steven Rodriguez—​was a founding member of A$AP Mob and played an integral part in shaping the music careers of A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg. He also helped push their brand beyond rap and into fashion alongside Rocky, A$AP Bari and A$AP Illz. No details have been revealed as to how he passed away at the moment.

His behind-the-scenes savvy clearly resonated in the modern era, as Yams built up the Mob's status largely through the internet, and specifically Tumblr, which was uncharted territory at the turn of this decade. In a 2013 interview with Complex, Yams spoke at length as to how he mapped out their moves using the social networking site.

A$AP Mob is poised to have a big year, with projects from Rocky, Ferg, A$AP Nast​, and their collective release set to drop in 2015. Many artists have offered their condolences to Yams and his family, including several members of the Mob. You can read their heartfelt messages below.
