“Listen, ‘I’m no different from you or anyone one else, Holly, all it takes to be a superhero is the choice to fight!’ Actually, the guy’s kinda got a point. I woder all the time why no one’s ever just stood up and become a real superhero.” - Libby (reading a passage from fictional comic book “The Holy Avenger”)
Super is a 2010 superhero Black comedy/drama indie film written and directed by James Gunn (Writer and director of 2014 superhero film Guardians of the Galaxy), starring Rainn Wilson (The Office), Ellen Page (Juno), Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon (FOX television series The Following) and Nathan Fillion (ABC TV series Castle)
In this off the wall comic book film spoof, a delusional short-order cook Frank Darbo calling himself “The Crimson Bolt” fashions himself an ugly hand made superhero costume and begins to fight crime as well as wheeling a wrench to beat up bad guys along with his kid sidekick “Boltie” (Ellen Page) after his wife Sarah (Liv Tyler) leaves him for a winsome strip club owner/drug dealer named Jacques (Kevin Bacon) because Frank believes he was touched by the "finger of God" and that God has chosen him for a very special purpose.
