Harley Quinn! Batman’s stunt double! The Joker’s stunt double! Sweet cars! It’s all here in the most recent update from the “Suicide Squad” set!
As 2016’s “Suicide Squad” continues to film out in the open streets of Toronto, fan videos and instagrams of the shoot in progress continue to pour in creating potential spoilers and character reveals for the whole nerdosphere to see, but we’re certainly not complaining!
Filming on the set got back underway after an apparent Memorial Day break, but shooting appears to have picked up where the heroes and villains last left off - tearing through the streets of Toron- er, I mean, Gotham City in a high-speed chase between the Batmobile and the, I guess we’re all calling it, the Jokermobile? The Laughing Stock-racecar? Does he boost it with nitrous oxide aka laughing gas…? Okay, I’ll stop. But that last one is sort of a legit question since Joker is known for using the toxic gas.
But I digress, though Ben Affleck has yet to be seen on the set of the high speed chase, his stunt double has certainly been making rounds and now last night appears to have been captured using the infamous utility belt, seemingly trying to saw his way into the Joker’s sweet ride because who wouldn’t want to ride in that thing?
Margot Robbie certainly seemed to be enjoying it playing the Joker’s main squeeze, Harley Quinn, wearing her trademark smirk the whole time. The actress’ stunt double has handled much of the set piece before and this is the first time we’re seeing the Aussie star go for a spin herself. Though Jared Leto has previously been spotted driving the vehicle, Robbie was the only star seen on set last night. But again, we’re not complaining.
Not much to deduce story-wise from this sequence and it certainly seems the filmmakers aren’t attempted to cover up what they’re doing – what we know is Joker is alone in his car at one point, gets Harley Quinn in there, and eventually gets chased by the Batmobile, which eventually sees Batman winding up on top of the vehicle. Affleck has been spotted on set already, but could that appearance or this chase for that matter be part of a broad flashback sequence to show us how Joker winds up in Belle Reve? Time will tell and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on it!
Before we wrap up though, shout out to all of the Instragrammers hooking it up with these awesome pics, but an especially big thanks to Batman fan and Instagrammer Terence Yip who has been crushing it with the “Suicide Squad” set photos, allowing us to show you much of what you’ve seen today. Also, Terence takes some delicious-looking photos of lobster dinners….
Anyway, we’ll continue to scour the web for more “Suicide Squad” updates, so you can be sure to tune in to Clevver for your DC movie needs. But what do you guys and gals think?
