Today the dynamic hip-hop production duo Cookin' Soul made a 3 minute Keith "The Guru" Elam (frontman of Gang Starr) audio tribute and its available for free streaming. On February 28, 2010 Keith "The Guru" Elam went into cardiac arrest and, following surgery, fell into a coma. He briefly awakened from his coma[16] but died on April 19, 2010, at the age of 48, from cancer.
"Keith Elam aka Guru (Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal) was a big influence for us,
his Jazzmatazz series showed the world the fusion of Jazz & Hip-Hop paving the way to other styles like neosoul... Not to mention Gangstarr, still one of our favourite groups of all time... tomorrow April 19th will mark the 5th anniversary of his death...
This is how we pay tribute to his legacy...
