44-year old Taraji P. Henson (Yvette in 2001's Baby Boy, Shug in 2005's Hustle & Flow and Queenie in 2008's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Cookie Lyon on the Fox musical drama series Empire) stopped by Power 105.1 for a sit down interview with Angie Martinez and discussed “Empire” being stereotypical, Cookie Lyon, her envy for other actresses, the growing roles for Black actors on TV, playing stereotypical female characters, her future success, being the happiest in her career, not worrying about awards (even though she just won an NAACP award for “Entertainer of the Year” last week).
