Tree (@MCTREEG) - "Pac Dilla " (Produced by @_iLLeeT)


Skilled producer/introspective storyteller Tree was born and raised in the oppobrious Cabrini Green apartment complex placed in the Near North community area. Tree is responsible for fostering his his own sound he calls Soul Trap (a subgenre of hip hop music that incorporates trap music and Southern Soul influences).

He attended the Chicago Salem Missionary Baptist Church located on the city's South Side regularly with his grandmother and formed an fervor for music.

But before he reached the big time, Tree had to work odd jobs to make ends meet for instance: a temporary, part time Shedd Aquarium employee, shining shoes, cashier at The Rock N Roll McDonald's, and a printing company, Forslund Grabowski on West Hubbard Street. During his stint at Forslund Grabowski is when he began recording music inside his own makeshift bedroom studio.Tree than started recording under the nickname “Tree,” short for Tremaine.

He worked for the chain store Nordstrom as a sales rep for ten years in the shoe department before quitting to pursue his own music career. In 2012, gruffy-voiced emcee released the first installment of his Sunday School series (Now Available to stream here). In 2013, he released the follow up, Sunday School II: When Church Lets Out. The self-produced mixtape was well-received and in 2014, he paired up with Scion A/V release his first EP, THE @MCTREEG EP. Recently MC Tree G and Vic Spencer released a collaboration album entitled VicTree which featured Tree’s production wizardry and Vic’s steller rhyme skills.
