Brooklyn is a 2015 romantic drama film directed by John Crowley and screenplay written by Nick Hornby, based on the historical novel of the same name by Irish author Colm Tóibín. The film stars Saoirse Ronan (co-starred in the film Atonement and had a starring role in Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones), Emory Cohen (NBC television series Smash), Domhnall Gleeson (He is best known for portraying Bill Weasley in the films Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2), Jim Broadbent (He is known for his roles in Moulin Rouge!, Bridget Jones' Diary, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and appeared in Harry Potter films as Horace Slughorn) and Julie Walters (potrayed Molly Weasley in seven of the eight Harry Potter films).
In 1950's Ireland and New York, a young Irish immigrant Ellis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan) has to choose between two men (Italian Long Islander named Antonio Giuseppe Fiorello and local pub owner Jim Farrell in Ireland) and two countries.
