New 'Batman v Superman' Batman Costume & Trailer Release Details Revealed

The countdown to next year’s highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is underway and today we’re getting new details on Ben Affleck’s new costume and when we can expect the first official trailer! In a recent interview with Fashionista, Batman v Superman costume designer Michael Wilkinson revealed that if Ben Affleck’s Batman was real, he’d need more than Alfred to help him into his signature cape and cowl. According to Wilkinson, it takes about 25 minutes and a team of 6 costumers to get Affleck suited up, but says it’s all worth it, because the new suit addresses some issues with previous Batman costumes, mainly the ability of the actors to turn their head. Wilkinson explained that director Zack Snyder wanted the suit to be comfortable and flexible and be able to perform in a very natural and forceful way with the rigidity of the cowl and neck-piece one of the first things Snyder asked to be fixed saying quote, “a lot of incredible engineering went into the development of the new black cowl." Wilkinson went on to explain that Snyder wanted the costume to be rooted in present day reality rather than some stylized version of it and looks forward to finding out what people think of it once they see it in action. As for when that could be, several sources are reporting that the first Batman v Superman trailer will be attached to Mad Max: Fury Road, which is set to hit theaters on May 15th. Of course, we’ll likely see it before that online, perhaps around the release of Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron, in an attempt to remind people that DC has their own superhero team-up movie coming out in less than a year?
