The song starts with dialogue from the 1981 heist film Thief, where local crime boss crime boss Lou (Robert Prosky) threatens to prostitute Frank's girlfriend Jessie and kill his entire family if Frank doesn't work directly for him.
Leo's hatchet men beat and kidnap his partner Barry and are waiting in hiding for Frank. Unaware that Leo's henchmen are waiting for him, Frank is layed out with the butt of a firearm and Barry is shot and killed.
Frank wakes up with upper-level crime boss Leo staring down at him, surrounded by his flunkies. Leo coldly warns Frank that he, Jessie, their child (a baby Frank is able to acquire on the black market with a little help from Leo) , and everything he owns are Leo's property. He threatens to prostitute Jessie and "I'll whack out ya whole family. People'll be eatin' 'em in their lunch tomorrow in their Wimpyburgers and not know it!

After Frank and his partner Barry pull off a complex safe-cracking job in L.A., and he is expecting the agreed-upon sum of $830,000 and about $4 million worth of diamonds. But when Frank returns from the gig, Leo tosses him an envelope consisting of less than $100,000 ($70,000 or $80,000). In addition, Leo sets up a Palm Beach score for Frank in 6 weeks without consulting him. An infuriated Frank flat out tells Leo that their deal is over, takes the thin package as he leaves and orders the rest of his money in 24 hours or "...you will wear your ass for a hat."
