Wholly haircuts, Batman! Jared Leto debuts his brand new do to play “The Joker” in next summer’s Suicide Squad. Production on DC’s supervillain movie Suicide Squad is close to starting and the film’s director, David Ayer has been taking to Twitter to tease everything from weapons that will be used in the film to source material to even testing out a flamethrower, but today brings a tease on how star Jared Leto will look as the new Joker. Ayer started out the day tweeting this pic of Leto’s signature long locks in a ponytail with a pair of scissors threatening to chop it off with the caption, “Should we? #SuicideSquad”. Well, the answer appears to be a resounding “yes” as that pic was followed by another a few hours later, this time showing Leto clean shaven and sporting a short haircut. Many people questioned whether or not Leto would keep the long hair and play a much different version of the character that we’ve seen before, but it looks like Joker purists will be glad to see they won’t be straying too far away from the source material, at least as far as his appearance is concerned. We do know from previous comments that Leto is putting on weight to play “The Joker”, with some suggesting we could see a much more muscular version of the character than we’re used to. Regarding the character, Leto previously described him as a “beautiful disaster” and Ayer recently called Jared Leto’s version of The Joker “majestic”. We’ll probably have to wait a little while longer until we get an official look at Leto’s majestically beautiful disaster Joker in action, but what do you think of his look so far and are you glad he cut his hair and shaved his beard for the role or would you have liked to see a different portrayal of Joker this time around? For now, I’m Joslyn Davis, thank you for watching and we’ll see you soon with more movie news.
