TV's First Batgirl Yvonne Craig Has Passed Away At Age 78.

Head turner Yvonne Craig widely known for her role as librarian turned female crime-fighter Batgirl and her nerdy alter ego Barbara Gordon from the original 1960's TV series Batman for the campy show's third season.

After the Batman TV Series was canceled by ABC, she appeared in the science fiction/action
adventure television series The Six Million Dollar Man (based on Martin Caidin's 1972 science fiction/secret agent novel Cyborg), Aaron Spelling's crime drama Mod Squad,  Detective fiction  TV series Starsky and Hutch, police TV drama Kojak (season 1 episode "Dark Sunday"), the small screen adaptation of the Spy-fi series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., comedical TV analect Love, American Style, half-hour comedy/drama  Kentucky Jones, western television series The Big Valley, and the action-adventure television series It Takes a Thief. The captivating Ohio native retired from acting in the late 70's and became a real estate agent.

On August 17, 2015, Yvonne Craig died at her home in the opulent neighborhood Pacific Palisades after her two-year long struggle with breast cancer.
