Darren Wilson Speaks About Shooting Michael Brown For The First Time

Tonight at 6:30 P.M. EST, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos will sit down with police officer Darren Wilson to discuss Wilson’s side of the story in the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Mo.

The pair spoke this afternoon at an undisclosed location, where Wilson insisted that he opened fire on Brown because the teen first reached for his gun, then charged at him. Wilson tells Stephanopoulos that he’s sorry for the loss of life, but he also would not have done anything differently.

Additionally, he said that race was “absolutely not” a factor in how he handled the situation, and that his conscience is clear.

The interview will be played on ABC beginning this evening first on World News Tonight, then Nightline, and finally Good Morning America tomorrow.
